Cecropia Eclosing

Cecropia eclosing 2

Julie is the President of Cecropia Strong and is a stroke survivor, who was finally found after three days. She's a bagpiper, an author, a management consultant, and a nature enthusiast.

My friend, Marj Nicholas, wanted her granddaughter to experience Cecropias hatching (the nerdy entomologists refer to it as “eclosing” from pupae!) So I gave her 4 pupae, which she passed to her daughter-in-law, Jan Heng. Jan filmed these wonderful shots of her 3 females (the boy moth didn’t hatch for another week!)

And soon after I received a card in the mail…
